Welcome to A simple man with power tools

about...

My online diary. This should have been started decades ago but all you would have read about were projects that were started and then…nothing.

I finally committed myself to a project that has kept my interest and is the one where I decided to not to be overly concerned with whether or not I could really do everything I wanted done.

Wrenching has never been an issue, I can disassemble just about anything, it’s the reassembly that sometimes misses the mark.

This particular project would involve metal work, welding and fabrication. I’ve always loved the idea of doing this type of work but never had the nerve to go for it. I woke up one day and asked myself what do I have to lose, besides money and a few digits. I found a place to work and bought a Home Depot Lincoln Mig welder.

As of this writing I have my main project and two more in the queue.

Let me throw out a disclaimer here. A couple of the sections I dealt with involved modifying steering and brake components. I am not trained or even remotely qualified to do the mods I performed. Please do not attempt to duplicate any of the procedures on this site. You could be compromising your safety and the safety of those around you. If you decide to copy or duplicate anything you read or see here, you are doing so against my advice and of your own free will.
